LTC_Word_Alvin_Photo.pngLt. Col. Alvin Word IV commissioned as an Intelligence officer in 2000 and has served for nearly 24 years at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels.

With over a decade as a staff primary (i.e., S2, G2, and J2) and more than five years in command (i.e., Company and Battalion), Word has served extensively in the U.S. Army Special Forces, Joint Special Operations, and U.S. Army Recruiting communities. Before attending the U.S. Army War College (USAWC), he was the Director of Intelligence (G2) for the Army's 1st Multi-domain Task Force, where he oversaw experimentation and integration of the Army Intelligence Enterprise's emerging deep sensing capabilities and helped inform the development of the Army's current operating concept: Multi-domain Operations. Upon graduation from the USAWC LTC Word will serve as the Deputy Director for the Intelligence Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

In addition to overseas tours in the Republic of Korea and Germany, numerous operational deployments into Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and East Asia, Word is a veteran of both the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns.

Word holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and of the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School's Unconventional Warfare Operational Design Course.

His awards and decorations are commensurate with his rank and operational assignments.

Word is married with two children.
