In 2001, Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Agnes Scott College, a private women’s college in Decatur, Georgia. In 2010, she received a master's in Public Administration from Marist College (Poughkeepsie, New York). Scott is currently enrolled in Liberty University’s Doctor of Public Administration program.

On June 19, 2003, Scott graduated from Officer Candidate School and received her commission as a Military Intelligence officer. Over the past 20 years, Scott served as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Company Commander, Special Security Officer, Joint Operations Center Intel Watch Officer, Deputy Analysis Control Element Chief, Deployable Intelligence Support Element Chief, Battalion Operations Officer, Brigade S2, Joint/Combined Intel Plans Branch Chief, U.S. State Department Interagency Fellow, MI LTC HRC Career Manager, and G2 Operations Division Chief. She most recently served as the Commander of the 524th MI BN (Forward Collection).

Scott’s overseas assignments and deployments include the Republic of Korea, Iraq, Jordon and Afghanistan. Her military training includes the Military Intelligence Officer’s Basic and Advanced Courses, Command and General Staff College, and the Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention Victim Advocate Course. Her military awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation and Achievement Medals, Army Commendation Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medals, Afghanistan and Iraq Campaign Medals, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and NATO Medal.

Scott is an avid runner, reader, and writer as well as a past and current NPC competitor. She is an active member of the U.S. Army OCS Alumni Association (Space/Treasure Coast Chapter), The ROCKS, Inc. (Fort Huachuca Chapter/Charter Member), and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Fort Knox Chapter).

She is the proud mother to one son who currently attends college.
