Kuderka reported to the 25th Infantry Division in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, for his first assignment. There he served as a Battalion Assistant Intelligence Officer in 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in October 2008. He returned in October 2009 and transitioned to Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia, where he served as the Battalion Assistant Intelligence Officer for 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. During this time, he deployed to Afghanistan twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) where he served as a Joint Special Operations Task Force J2 (Intelligence Officer).
After the Career Course, Kuderka took command of Bravo Company, 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division Special Troops Battalion where he again deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF. After command, he served as an Observer, Coach, Trainer at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany and Small Group Instructor at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence. Following graduate school, Kuderka served as the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) S2 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and deployed to Iraq as a Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force J2. Most recently, Kuderka was assigned to the Human Resources Command in Fort Knox, Kentucky, where he served as a Military Intelligence Career Manager.
Kuderka received his appointment as Professor and Chair of the Military Science Department for the Gateway Battalion in July, 2022.
Kuderka holds a Bachelor of Arts from The Citadel, and a Master of Arts from the United States Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. He has earned numerous decorations to include three Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, three Meritorious Service Medals, the Combat Action Badge, the Ranger Tab, the Air Assault Badge, and Basic Parachutist Wings.
He and his wife live with their three energetic boys.
