MAJ_Tran_Truong_Q_Photo.pngMaj. Truong Quoc Tran holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas. He graduated from the Army’s Officer Candidate School and was commissioned into the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps.

During his career, Tran served as an intelligence officer (S2) for 1-8 CAV, 2 ABCT at Fort Cavazos, Texas, where he assumed the duties of Battalion S2 in Diyala Province, Iraq, and for the USF-I strategic reserve mission at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, in support of Operation New Dawn. While stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, he served as the Battalion S2 for 5-20th Infantry Regiment, 1-2 SBCT, the Commander for the Military Intelligence Company for 23rd BEB, 1-2 SBCT, and the Brigade S2 for the 201st Expeditionary Intelligence Brigade.

Tran’s notable assignments include the Company Executive Officer (XO) in the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Training Battalion, G2 Operations Officer at I Corps, Battalion XO for the 205th Military Intelligence Battalion, 500th Military Intelligence Brigade – Theater (MIB-T), and the Brigade XO for the 500th MIB-T. He is joint duty assignment qualified from his assignment as the Collection Manager at INDOPACOM HQ, Joint Intelligence Operations Center and the Executive Assistant for the Director of Intelligence (J2), INDOPACOM at Camp Smith, Hawaii.

Tran is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer College (CGSOC). He is a graduate of the Army Intelligence Development Program - Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AIDP-ISR), earning the DIA’s Certified Collection Management Professional - Fundamental (CCMP-F) certificate.

Tran’s military schools include Uncrewed Aircraft System Unit Commander and Staff Course, Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Operations Management Course, Military Intelligence Officer Basic and Captains Career Courses, Signals Intelligence/Electronic Warfare Course, CGSOC, Joint Firepower Course, Information Collection Planners Course, Army Space Basic Cadre 1 and 2, Air Force ISR Operations Course, and various DIA, NGA, NSA, and NRO courses.

For nearly ten years, he has been happily married.
