MAJ_NormanMegan_Photo 2.jpgMaj. Megan Norman was raised in Great Falls, Montana, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages (Spanish) and History from Montana State University-Bozeman in 2006.

She enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2009, and attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. She graduated from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia, commissioning as a second lieutenant in 2010. She branched Military Intelligence and attended BOLC at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, in 2011.

Upon completing BOLC, Norman received orders to 4IBCT, 3rd ID at Fort Stewart, Georgia, where she served as a Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Platoon Leader in 2012. She then became the BDE S2 Plans OIC and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) OIC in January 2013 for Operation Enduring Freedom XIV in Logar Province, Afghanistan. After deployment, Norman attended the Military Intelligence Captains Career Course at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, in 2014. She then received orders sending her to the 1st AD Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Bliss, Texas, where she became the Assistant Brigade Intelligence Officer until December 2015, when she assumed command of HSC, 204th MI BN (AR). After Company Command, she served as the ISR Liaison for the 204th MI BN (AR) at U.S. Embassy-Bogota. In 2017, she received orders to U.S. Southern Command, in Doral, Florida, where she first served in the J29 Intelligence Engagements Division, working with 31 nations in the Western Hemisphere on Intel Security Cooperation. In 2019, she moved to the USSOUTHCOM Collection Management Division, where she became the Collection Requirements Branch Chief, in charge of ingesting, validating, and approving collection requirements for the entire AOR. She then was selected to attend Resident Command & General Staff Officer College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where she earned her master’s degree in Operational Studies. After CGSOC, she received orders to Area Support Group-Kuwait at Camp Arifjan, assigned as the Brigade S2 Officer in Charge. After serving in Kuwait, she moved to Fort Huachuca in August 2022, and became the Directorate of Training & Doctrine Executive Officer/Deputy Director. In June 2023, she moved from DOTD to the 309th MI BN at Fort Huachuca, where she served as the BN Executive Officer.

Her awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medals (2 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal (Operation Allies Refuge), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and the Silver German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge.

Norman and her husband have two children.
