MAJ_DeAvila_Elizabeth_Photo.pngMaj. Elizabeth DeAvila graduated from the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in Military Intelligence in 2012.

During her first assignment, she served in the 4th Brigade, 10th Mountain Division’s  Headquarters and Headquarters S-2 section in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2013-2014. Additionally, she served as a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in Bravo Company, 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, and later deployed with the 317th Brigade Engineer Battalion serving as the Bagram Joint Defense Operations Center Battle Captain in Operation Resolute Support. Following the Captains Career Course, DeAvila served as the S-2 for the 504th Military Police Battalion, Military Intelligence Company Commander in 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, and as an Operations Officer and Fusion Chief for the Eighth Army G-2. After completion of the Command and General Staff College, she served briefly as the Brigade’s Deputy Operations Officer for the 525th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade, and then Battalion S-3 and Executive Officer for the 319th Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Battalion (Division).

Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal (1OLC); Army Commendation Medal (1OLC); Army Achievement Medal (4OLC); Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold). She holds a B.A. in Humanities: Foreign Languages (German), a minor in Russian, a M.A. in Operational Studies from CGSC, and a M.S. in Adult Education and Leadership from Kansas State University.

She is married to another Army officer and has one child and two dogs.
