Lt. Col. Joshua N. Nunnally is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and enlisted in the Army Reserves in 2003. In 2006, he attended Officer Candidate School and commissioned as a Military Intelligence officer.
Nunnally most recently served as Fellow, Director of National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS). Throughout his career he served positions from Combatant Command to squad level. His previous assignments include: Executive Officer to Director, Officer Personnel Management Directorate, Human Resources Command; Executive Officer, Operations Support Division, Human Resources Command; Brigade S3, 504th Military Intelligence Brigade; Executive Officer, 163d Military Intelligence Battalion; Operations Officer, III Corps G2, Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Freedom; Account Manager and Operating Forces Section Chief, Officer Readiness Division, Human Resources Command; Officer-in-Charge, Cryptologic Support Team, Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – Afghanistan; Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Officer, 741st Military Intelligence Battalion with duty at MacDill Air Force Base supporting NSA/CSS Representative for USCENTCOM; Squadron Intelligence Officer, 1/38th Cavalry Squadron; Company Commander, Platoon Leader, and Assistant S3, 319th Military Intelligence, 525th Military Intelligence Brigade.
Nunnally’s deployments while serving in the aforementioned positions include two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, two deployments is support Operation Iraqi Freedom, and one deployment is support Operation Inherent Resolve.
Nunnally holds a master’s in Military Operational Art and Science from Air University, master’s in Leadership and Management from Webster University, and a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Morris College.
Nunnally’s awards and decorations include Bronze Star (w/1 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (w/1 OLCs), Meritorious Service Medal (w/2 OLCs), Army Commendation Medal (w/2 OLCs), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (3 Stars), Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal (1 Star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Volunteer Service Medal (w/1 OLCs), Overseas Service Ribbon (4), Combat Action Badge, and Basic Parachutist Badge.
