Mark Harris has been serving as the Senior Intelligence Officer for NGA-Army and Deputy Senior Service Leader for the Army Element at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) since May 2023. A 2007 graduate of Drexel University, Harris earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He also holds a master's degree in Science and Technology Intelligence from the National Intelligence University and a master's degree in International Business from the University of Florida.

Commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 2007, LTC Harris initially served as a Light Infantry Platoon leader in 2-12 Infantry Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. After a combat deployment to Afghanistan, he transitioned to the Military Intelligence career field and assumed the role of Battalion Intelligence Officer (S2) for 1-21 Infantry Battalion, 2nd Stryker Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

In 2013, Harris took command of Alpha Company, 715th Military Intelligence Battalion, operating under the National Security Agency-Hawaii. Following his command, he served as an Intelligence Planner in U.S. Army Cyber Command at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Transitioning to the Strategic Intelligence Officer career field in 2016, Harris was subsequently assigned to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Headquarters in Tampa, Florida. During his tenure at CENTCOM, he held two positions: Branch Chief within the Joint Intelligence Center and Executive Officer to the CENTCOM Director and Vice Director of Intelligence (J2). From 2020 to 2023, Harris served in the 1st Capability Integration Group before assuming his current assignment with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

Harris holds various military qualifications, including Airborne, Ranger, Mountaineering, Signals Intelligence, Cyberspace Planner, DIA Analytic Review, and Space Enabler. Additionally, he is certified in GEOINT Professional Certification-Foundations and has completed an Executive Leadership certificate program at Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson College of Business.
