Brchan enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard in 2003 as an 11B – Infantryman, where he served as a rifleman, machine gunner, squad designated marksman, and team leader throughout college and the Reserve Officer Training Corps program. He commissioned into the Infantry from Oklahoma State University in 2011, with a Bachelor of Arts in University Studies, minoring in Business, Sociology, and Military Science. In 2022, he graduated from the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, with a Master of Science in Operational Studies.

Brchan’s military education includes the Infantry Basic Officer Leader’s Course, Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Mechanized Leader’s Course, Cold Weather Orientation Course, Military Intelligence Officer Transition Course, Military Intelligence Captains Career Course, Counterintelligence Officer Course, and the Command and General Staff Officer’s Course.

Brchan’s assignments include Battalion S3 and Functional Training Branch Officer-in-Charge, 304th Military Intelligence Battalion; Army Intelligence Development Program – Counterintelligence (AIDP-CI); Commander, HHC US Army Garrison Alaska; Squadron S2, 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division; Assistant S2 and Platoon Leader, 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

Brchan has deployed to Afghanistan and Qatar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Army Parachutist Badge and Air Assault Badge.

Brchan is married and has two children.
