MAJ_Maguire_Brandon_Photo.PNGMaj. Brandon Maguire was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at New Mexico Military Institute in 2007, commissioning into the Vermont Army National Guard as an Infantry officer and Platoon Leader. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Norwich University in 2009 and assessed active duty as a Military Intelligence officer (Branch Detailed to the Infantry).

Maguire has served in multiple intelligence officer positions during his career. He served as the AS2 for 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry (ABN) stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, and completed a 10-month deployment to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Upon completion of the MI Captains Career Course and HUMINT Officer track, he immediately served as the BCT AS2 for 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (2-101) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, completing a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan for OEF. He then served as the BN S2 for 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry for a year before being selected to command the Military Intelligence Company (MICO) for 2-101: Delta Company, 39th Brigade Engineer BN. While serving as the MICO commander, he completed a nine-month deployment to northern Iraq and Kuwait for Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR). Post Intermediate Level Education at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, he served as the 1st Cavalry Division (FWD) G2 in Poland for a seven-month rotation ISO Operation Atlantic Resolve (OAR) and completed his time on the DIV staff as the G5 Intelligence Planner at Fort Cavazos, Texas. He then served as the ABCT S2 for 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division for one year during modernization. Maguire then transferred to the 504th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade (EMIB) where he served as the Battalion S3 for the 163d Intelligence and Electronic Warfare (IEW) Battalion. He currently serves as the Brigade S3 for 504th EMIB and is on orders to the Mission Command Training Program at Fort Leavenworth.

Maguire was selected to attend graduate school through the Advanced Civil Schooling (ACS) program after his captain key development time, graduating from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University with a master’s degree in International Affairs (National Security and Diplomacy). He is also a graduate of the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth where he received a master’s degree in Military Operational Studies.

Maguire is married, and they have two children. He enjoys traveling and playing with his family, physical fitness, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and the outdoors. His family is very involved in their church and looks forward to the new adventures the Army often brings. Maguire aspires to be selected for Battalion Command and is interested in future INSCOM, SOF, or Joint opportunities.
