Virtual Opening of the National Museum of the United States Army on Veterans Day, 2020
WASHINGTON – The National Museum of the United States Army opens its doors to the public for the first time on Veterans Day, 2020. A virtual ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the National Museum of the United States Army will be held Nov. 11, at 2:00 p.m. EST. It will be livestreamed at https://www.dvidshub.net/webcast/25129 to invite people around the world to take part in this historic moment.
The National Museum of the U.S. Army, located on a publically accessible area of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, will be the first and only museum to tell the 245-year history of the U.S. Army since its establishment in 1775.
Admission is free, but timed-entry tickets are required to assist in managing visitor capacity and provide an optimal visitor experience. For tickets and more information, please visit www.theNMUSA.org or call (800) 506-2672.
The museum will open with enhanced health and safety measures for visitors, and daily operations will be managed in accordance with state and local COVID-19 health and safety guidance.
“We have worked hard to ensure the safety of our staff and visitors, and we are excited to open the doors of this long-awaited national museum,” said the museum’s director, Ms. Tammy E. Call.
