Installation Access

Effective May 7, 2025, in accordance with Department of Homeland Security guidance, all visitors requesting unescorted access to Fort George G. Meade and other federal installations must present a REAL ID-compliant credential or an acceptable alternative form of identification. For more information, click here.

Due to a current manning shortage, the Directorate of Emergency Services will be implementing reduced hours of operation for Access Control Points 1 and 7, and temporarily closing the Visitor Control Center from 12-1 p.m., Monday through Friday. These changes are necessary to maintain security operations with available personnel. Reduced hours for the VCC begin, July 21, 2025. Reduced hours for ACPs 1 & 7 begin July 26, 2025.
