U.S. Army Garrison Fort George G. Meade, the largest employer in the state of Maryland, is looking for new guards to add to its security force. 

The Garrison will host a Department of the Army Security Guard Hiring Fair May 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Pershing Hall Conference Room at 4550 Parade Field Lane.

Interested applicants should come to the event with a resume, DD 214 (if applicable), and two forms of government-issued ID. Additionally, applicants are required to apply through USA Jobs prior to, or on the day of the event at https://www.usajobs.gov/job/709984500.

Working as a Department of the Army Security Guard offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including paid holidays, sick leave and vacation time; various health and life insurance options; retirement program with matching employer contribution; bonuses, awards and other incentives for job performance.

Interested applicants should also be prepared for the application process, interviews, initiation of the security process, on-site drug testing, part one of the medical examination, and a physical agility test comprising of a one-and-a-half-mile run completed in 17 minutes and 19 pushups completed in two minutes.

Non-DoD applicants can enter the installation through the visitor’s gate located at 8050 Rockenbach Road. Walk-ins are welcomed for this event; however, Fort Meade Garrison highly encourages pre-registering as this event is first come, first serve.

Those who are selected are required to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, complete pre-employment and annual medical examination, pre-employment and random drug testing, and carry a weapon amongst other requirements.
