Mission
The mission of the Fort Meade Directorate of Public Works is provide effective and efficient facilities management, support mission readiness and execution, enable the well-being of service members, civilians and family members, and preserve the environment

The DPW is the Garrison's primary element for maintenance of the installation, infrastructure, and the environment.  DPW encompasses the review of work classification and technical adequacy of all projects; reviews and validates submission of Military Construction (MILCON) projects for all construction and renovations development occurring on the Installation; updates assets, allowances, requirements, and programmed construction data in a variety of databases; provides day-to-day sustainment and maintenance support for the installation; monitors and ensures all work and military-training activities are accomplished incompliance with Federal and State Environmental requirements / regulations; and provides oversight for all Quality of Life requirements for all service members and their families residing on the installation or in the local community.

DPW Divisions

Master Planning Division
The Master Planning Office develops and maintains Real Property Master Plans, conducts Real Property Planning Board meetings, provides Major Construction Programming Services, provides maximum utilization of Facilities Services, provides Real Property Accountability Services, grants use of Army Real Property and disposes of Real Estate, Facilities, and Real Estate Interests 

Operations & Maintenance Division
To support the Fort Meade mission through effective use of energy, providing and maintaining sustainable facilities and infrastructure, and emphasizing a culture of safety.

Business Operations Integration Division
The Business Operations Integration Division provides management of directorate resources, information technology, human resources, and organizational strategic planning along with financial planning, analysis, programming support, and industrial engineering services.

Engineering Division
To provide engineering support and construction project management to the U.S. Army Garrison. DPW's Engineering Division plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees master planning, execution of design, construction, and real property management.

Housing Division
The Housing Division offers individual off-post counseling and referral assistance; up-to-date listings of homes for rent or sale; review, clarify or explain lease contracts; mediate disputes between tenants and landlords; inspect off-post rental housing for adequacy and non-discriminatory rental practices; provide handout material, including area maps, rental/sales booklets, brochures, etc.

Environmental Division
The Fort Meade DPW Environmental Division is committed to environmental excellence in all aspects of the Fort Meade mission. In accordance with the Sustainable Management System.

Mold Identification and Remediation Resources
The Army’s Installation Management Command (IMCOM) is implementing a comprehensive and enduring plan to inform and educate Soldiers, Families, and Civilians about how they can help counter the presence of mold in all Army facilities before the summer, when mold presents the highest risk to our people, and facilities.
