
Colonel Zachery David Brainard
COL Brainard’s assignments include 2-77 Field Artillery Battalion, where he served as the BN CBRN Officer and platoon leader in Alpha Battery, BDE CBRN officer for the 501st SBDE, commander of the 38th CM DET (Joint Assessment Team), commander of the 4th CM CO, CBRNE Response Team (CRT) Leader and CDR of Company C / 22d CM BN (now 25th CM CO), CBRN officer for the 2nd Infantry Division, S3 / XO 23d CBRNE Battalion, CWMD Team Leader for Special Operations Command, Pacific (SOCPAC), DCO of the 48th CBRN Brigade, and commander of the 2d Chemical Battalion.
COL Brainard is currently the Assistant Commandant of the U.S. Army CBRN School at Fort Leonard Wood, MO
COL Brainard graduated from Fordham University and commissioned into the Chemical Corps through New York City Army ROTC in 2004. He holds a BS in Business Administration from Fordham University and a MS in Environmental Management from Webster University. He has completed various military training programs, including Defense Support to Civil Authorities Phases 1 & 2, HAZMAT Incident Command, Field Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties Course, Technical Escort, Air Assault, Joint CBRN Planners Course, the Joint Forces Staff College, Army War College Fellow to the Middlebury Institute.
