Colonel Tywana Robinson

 

Colonel Robinson is a 1999 graduate of Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS, receiving a ROTC Commission. She is a graduate of the Chemical Officer Basic Course, Chemical Captains Career Course, Technical Escort Course, and the Command and General Staff Officers Course (CGSC). She has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Management) and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Webster University.

 

COL Robinson’s career began with the 2nd Battalion, 52nd Aviation Regiment, Camp Humphreys, Korea, as a Battalion Chemical Officer and Executive Officer, Alpha Company 82d Chemical Company, 3rd Chemical Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. She then served with the 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas, as the Brigade Chemical Officer and deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Next, she assumed command of the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 2nd Chemical Battalion, Fort Hood, TX. Next, COL Robinson served as the Operations Officer with the WMD Coordination Element, Team 2, 20th Support Command (Chemical, Biological, Chemical, Radiological and High Yield Explosives or CBRNE) Edgewood, Maryland. COL Robinson completed her assignment at 20th Support Command and later deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the Program Manager for the Afghanistan National Police in Kabul, Afghanistan. She then assumed duties in Third Army, US Army Central (ARCENT) as the Deputy CBRNE Chief, G36 (Protection Branch) and held multiple positions in this assignment at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, and later forward deployed as the Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Special Troops Battalion, Arifjan, Kuwait. Upon completing her time in South Carolina, COL Robinson returned to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, as Chief, CWMD Branch, Requirements Determination Division. Completing her assignment at Fort Leonard Wood, COL Robinson served as the Division Chemical Officer for 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. After her tour in Hawaii, COL Robinson’s follow-on assignment as Operations Officer on the Army Staff, G1, Assistant Secretary of the Army, Manpower &Reserve Affairs (ASA M&RA) Talent Management Task Force. Currently, she serves as the Director, Directorate of Training and Leader Development for the US Army CBRN School.

 

Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (6-OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2-OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2-OLC) National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, and Army Staff Badge.

 

She is currently pursuing her Doctoral Studies in Strategic Leadership (Individualized Concentration) at Regent University. COL Robinson also serves on the Board of Directors for UBridge Project, providing educational service to the community. In addition, she is a published author who advocates for diversity, inclusion, coaching, and self-development.
