SGM Jeffery D. Howard


Sergeant Major (SGM) Jeffery D. Howard was born in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. He initially joined the U. S. Army in August of 1996-September 2000, and reentered the Army in 2003 to present.


SGM Howard attended basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC, as a Watercraft Operator (88K). After a break in service, he later re-classed at Ft.Leonard Wood, MO, to 54B (74D) Chemical Specialist.

Campbell, KY; Alpha Company, Warrior Transition Battalion, San Antonio, TX; 26th Chemical Reconnaissance Detachment, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Eglin AFB, FL; 207th Military Intelligence Brigade (Theater), Vicenza, Italy; Bravo Company, 307th Military Intelligence Battalion; Vicenza, Italy; 71st Chemical Company, 303D Ordnance Battalion (EOD), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; 82D Airborne Division, XVIII ABN Corps, Fort Liberty, North Carolina. He has deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom I and Operations Enduring Freedom VIII, XIX, XXII, Operation Assure, Deter, and Reinforce, Poland.


SGM Howard's military education includes the U. S. Army Air Assault School, Airborne School, Pathfinder School, Rappel Master Course, Equal Opportunity Representative Course, Technical Escort School, Confined Space Training Course, Special Forces Urban Basic Combat Course – Support, Home Made Explosive LVL III Course, SOF Sensitive Site Exploitation Enablers Course, SOF Sensitive Site Exploitation Operators Course, SOF Dynamics of International Terrorism Course, Common Remote Operator Weapons Station II Course, MRAP University Drivers Course, AFSOC ATV Academy, SOF Raider Rubber Craft Operator Course, Warrior Transition Cadre Course, Basic Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course (SLC) (DL), Commanders/First Sergeant Course, Theater Nuclear Operator Course, Common Faculty Instructors Course, United States Army Sergeants Majors Course, graduating with a concentration in Leadership and Workforce Development. His civilian education includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Administration with a concentration in Emergency Management with University of Phoenix.


SGM Howard's awards and decorations include the BSM (1 OLC), DMSM, MSM (4OLC), ARCOM (2 OLC), JSAM, AAM (2 OLC), AGCM (6th award), NDSM (1BSS), SWASM, ACM (3 CS), ICM (2 CS), GWTSM, HSM, NOPDR (#3), NATO (AFG), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, the Combat Action Badge, Air Assault Badge, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge (Driver), British Parachutist Wings, Brazilian Parachutist Wings, German Armed Forces Badge (Gold), and the Ancient and Honorable Order of the Dragon.
