CSM(R) Robert M. Aldenberg

 

Robert M. Aldenberg is a native of Lynnfield, Massachusetts. He retired from the Army in October of 2015 as a Command Sergeant Major after serving 24 years in the Army.

 

He enlisted in the Army in October 1991 and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort McClellan, Alabama. His assignments include; Decontamination Specialist, 11th Chemical Company, Fort McClellan, Alabama; Team and Squad Leader, 25th Chemical Company, Budingen, Germany; Company and Battalion CBRN NCO 7th Transportation Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant, 71st Chemical Company, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Small Group Leader and First Sergeant, MANSCEN NCOA, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; First Sergeant, 95th Chemical Company, Fort Richardson, Alaska, where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Small Group Leader, First Sergeant Course, United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (USAMA), Fort Bliss, Texas; Class 58, USASMA, Fort Bliss, Texas; Division CBRN Sergeant Major, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom; Command Sergeant Major, 22nd Chemical Battalion, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and Command Sergeant Major, 3rd Chemical Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

 

His military education includes Primary Leadership Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, Sergeants Major Course (Class 58). His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and a Master of Arts from Webster University.

 

His awards and decorations include Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (6 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal; Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (5 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (6 Award), National Defense Service Medal (1 Star), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Number 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Number 5), Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Norwegian Airborne Badge, Chemical Corps Orders of the Dragon, Order of Saint Maurice and the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.

 

He currently works for Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) Biological Defense as the Liaison Officer to the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C.
