Colonel Fredrick Parker
Colonel Fredrick Parker was born in Lewisville, Arkansas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University. In 1998, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the Reserve Officers Training Corps. COL Parker has completed several military courses, including the Chemical Basic Course, Captains’ Career Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) II. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Technical Escort Course and the Naval War College.
From 1998 to 2000, he served as the Battalion Chemical Officer for the 1st Battalion 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment (Airborne). He then served as a Chemical Platoon Leader in HHC, 172nd Separate Infantry Brigade. After completing the Chemical Corps Captains’ Career Course, COL Parker was appointed as the NBC Detachment Commander, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his deployment, he played a key role in the strategic development of the first Iraqi Army Chemical Defense Company. In 2005, COL Parker commanded Echo Company, 3rd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment. Later, in August 2008, he assumed command of Alpha Company, 110th Chemical Battalion (Technical Escort), and deployed the first CBRNE Company Team to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. After serving as the Executive Officer of the Seattle Recruiting Battalion, COL Parker worked as an action officer on the 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review at Headquarters Department of the Army G-8. He was then assigned to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, culminating as the Military Assistant to the Director of Partnerships and Building Capacity Department. He also commanded the Atlanta Recruiting Battalion. Colonel Parker's most recent assignment was as the commander of the 3rd Chemical Brigade. Currently, he is assigned as the Executive Officer to Deputy Chief of Staff G-9.
Colonel Parker’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War of Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War of Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Senior Parachutist Badge.
