Humphrey B. Hills II

 

Chief Warrant Officer Four Humphrey B. Hills II is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve in August 1994 and later the active Army in October 1998 as a Chemical Operations Specialist (54B). He attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort McClellan, Alabama in 1995.

 

Prior to becoming a Warrant Officer, CW4 Hills’ assignments included CBRN Logistics NCO, III Corps Protection Cell Fort Cavazos, TX (Iraq Forward); CBRN Reconnaissance Platoon Sergeant, 12th Chemical Company, Grafenwoehr, Germany; Doctrine Analyst, 3rd Chemical Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; CBRN Reconnaissance (L5/L1) Instructor/Writer, 84th Chemical Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; CBRN Reconnaissance Squad Leader, 4th Chemical Company, Camp Casey, Korea; MM1 Operator, 87th Chemical Company, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Chemical Operations Specialist, 377th TSC, New Orleans, Louisiana.

 

He was selected to become a Warrant Officer Candidate and graduated from the Warrant Officer Candidate School and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Warrant Officer Basic Course in 2011 as a CBRN Technician (740A).

 

As a Warrant Officer, CW4 Hills has served as the Battalion CBRN Technician in 2-5 Field Artillery Battalion, Fort Sill, Oklahoma and 3-16 Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Cavazos, Texas; 48th Chemical Brigade’s Senior Warrant Officer, Fort Cavazos, Texas; the HRC Chemical Branch 740A Career Manager, Fort Knox, Kentucky; and the 4th Regimental Chief Warrant Officer, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He currently serves as the CBRN Technician for Weapons of Mass Destruction Coordination Team 2, 20th CBRNE Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

 

CW4 Hills deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn (2010-2011). He also deployed to South Korea as a part of 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division’s rotation (2015).

 

CW4 Hills has completed all levels of warrant officer professional military education, as well as numerous Army and Joint CBRN courses. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Columbia College, Missouri. He is pursuing a master’s degree in emergency and disaster management from American Military University.

 

CW4 Hills’ awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal (1 BS), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 BS), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3), Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service (with Numeral Four), and the Air Assault Badge. He is also a recipient of the Honorable and Ancient Order of the Dragon Award, a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc, and a life member of the United States Warrant Officer Association.
