Hyde, John F. LT, "Operations of the 9th Armored Division at the Ludendorff Bridgehead, Remagen, Germany, 7 March - 17 March 1945 (Rhineland Campaign)" This paper written in 1947, describes Col. John Hyde’s experience as a young First Lieutenant leading the Military Police forward element in establishing traffic control during the capture of the Ludendorff railroad bridge, Remagen, Germany in March 1945, during which he won a Silver Star. In 2001, Col. Hyde was inducted into the MP Regimental Hall of Fame.
Conover, Charles M. CPT, "Operation of Military Police Platoon, 1st Infantry Division, in the Establishment of the Omaha Beachhead, 6 June 1944" (Normandy Campaign) First Lieutenant Conover wrote this paper in 1946 on his experiences as the XO of a military police platoon in the 1st Infantry Division on June 6, 1944, on Omaha Beach, for which he was warded the second of his two Silver Stars. He also won two Soldier’s Medals during WWII.
