About DODPOST   
   With the advent of the DODI 5525.15 Law Enforcement Standards, the POST Commission has gained
momentum and has programmed improvements for DOD law enforcement standards for all the Tasks, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Critical Competencies.  This program is prepared in an effort to synchronize the law enforcement commissioning and certification program across all services and agencies by supporting the DODI 5525.15 and outlining the DOD Law Enforcement Officer Certification Program and its sub-components.   

Law Enforcement Certification  
  To be a Law Enforcement Officer in the Department of Defense,
you must be meet certification standards prescribed by the DOD Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission. To become certified, you must have attended one of the DOD approved Basic Training Academies that has had their curriculum accredited by the DODPOST.  To maintain certification, officers must have a minimum of 40 hours of in-service training each year, plus an annual firearms re-qualification under the supervision of their service or agencies standards.

Security Guard Standards   
  In order to be a Security Guard in the Department of Defense, you must be trained using curriculum approved by the DOD Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission. 
The training objectives are listed in Guideline-2 of DoDI 5525.15, available under the “Guidelines” tab. To maintain certification, officers must have a minimum of 40 hours of in-service training each year, plus an annual firearms re-qualification under the supervision of their service or agencies standards.

Criminal Investigative Analysts Standards  
   To be a Criminal Investigative Analysts in the Department of Defense, you must be certified by the DOD Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission.
The training objectives are listed in Guideline-3 of DoDI 5525.15 available under the “Guidelines” tab​​​​​​​. To become certified, you must have attended one of the DOD approved Basic Training Academies and then successfully been awarded a DODPOST Certificate.  To maintain certification, officers must have a minimum of 40 hours of in- service training each year.   ​​​​​​​
