
CID MILITARY TRAINING ACADEMY
WARRANT OFFICER EDUCATION SYSTEM:
WOBC Phase 1:
The CID Special Agent Course trains newly appointed Warrant Officers and U.S. Civilian personnel to the level of apprentice CID special agents in the subjects of criminal law, crime scene processing, testimonial evidence, investigations of crimes against persons and property, physical evidence, drug investigation, fraud and waste, investigation reports, special investigative techniques, and provisions of DACID IIOM and other DACID policies and procedures.
Phase 2:
Trains recently appointed Military Police CID Warrant Officers on leadership, management and supervision of CID personnel and assets in peace, war and other operating environments.
WOIC:
CID Warrant Officer Intermediate Course produces CID Agents able to assist the Directorate of Emergency Services during large-scale incidents. Proper use of the NIMS core competencies learned in this course allows all government agencies to learn from one educational source and can be used to understand how each agency contributes to resolving large-scale incidents.
WOAC FO Phase 1 & 2:
CID Warrant Officer Advanced Course Follow-On prepares CID Special Agents to assume more responsibility as a Supervisory Special Agent, training in leadership, and other operational duties.
WOSC FO:
CID Warrant Officer Senior Course Follow-On prepares CID Special Agents to be able to manage investigative operations at the Field Office level and higher echelons; functioning effectively as a Staff Officer and Operations Officer.
FUNCTIONAL COURSES:
Sexual Assault Investigations Course:
Education and training focuses on understanding the legal aspects of sexual assaults, sexual assault victimology, the neurobiology of trauma, conducting sensitive victim interviews, understanding the psychology of sex offenders, interviews of sexual assault perpetrators, drug and alcohol facilitated sexual assaults, use of digital evidence in sexual assault investigations, intimate partner sexual assaults, and sex trafficking.
Protective Services Course:
Emphasis is placed on the full spectrum of personal protection, which includes doctrine, weapons training, and motorcade / evasive driving skills. Personnel will be trained to plan, coordinate, and execute Protective Services missions.
Advanced Crime Scene Investigative Techniques:
The course will entail advanced forensic methods of identifying, preserving, photographing, collecting and marking items of evidence. It will focus on crime scene interpretation, advanced photography methods of crime scene documentation, bloodstain pattern recognition, botany/entomological evidence identification and collection, impression collection, behavioral evidence, advanced arson and post blast crime scene investigations and present new emerging technologies.
