ARMY NONLETHAL SCALABLE EFFECTS CENTER (ANSEC) MISSION

 

ANSEC’s mission is to execute for USAMPS its responsibilities as the Army’s overall lead for Nonlethal (NL) DOTMLPF developments directly supporting the AR 5 – 22 Force Modernization Proponent for NLW, currently designated as CG, MSCoE.  Army Nonlethal Scalable Effects Center (ANSEC) responsibilities include: providing user requirements input for the rapid and efficient development and fielding of Army Nonlethal capabilities; execution of Army Nonlethal Integrated Process/Product Team meetings; participation in Joint Integration Program (JIP) meetings identifying for further development promising candidate NL technologies; and, supporting the Joint NLW Army-led acquisition programs, as required.  ANSEC also executes capabilities development efforts, including the preparation of JCIDS requirements documents for specified Army-led programs.  ANSEC directly supports other Army Centers of Excellence and their individual NLW development efforts.  This includes assistance with their analyses as well assisting them in the preparation of Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System requirements documentation.  ANSEC supports the Army’s role in the extensive NL Joint efforts, including support to the Joint Coordination Integration Group (JCIG), the DoW NLW Integrated Process Team, and the Joint Nonlethal Weapons Directorate.

The ANSEC’s mission also includes more in depth support to the following critical Nonlethal functions: dedicated support to the Army Joint Coordination Integration Group (JCIG) Voting Principal, currently the Assistant Commandant, USAMPS; identification and assistance in development of NL policy, ICW USAMPS and OPMG, as NLWs enter into the force as a whole; and, increasing support for NL training issues as ANSEC serves more and more as the natural conduit and connection to and amongst the Army and other Services for NLW training issues.  This will include: specific training issues related to the fielding of new NLWs and items to the Army; incorporation of relevant NL training in the TRADOC Institutional Training System Programs of Instruction at the various COEs; and, issues related to INIWIC.
