Fantastic Beasts poster.jpgFORT DRUM, N.Y. (Nov. 2, 2018) – Service members, military Families and retirees can get a free sneak peek of Warner Brothers’ “The Crimes of Grindelwald,” starring Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law and Johnny Depp, on Nov. 10 at the Fort Drum Reel Time Theater. The free military appreciation screening will begin at 2 p.m.

The Fort Drum community will get to see the movie almost a week before it is released to nationwide audiences on Nov. 16, courtesy of Warner Brothers and the Army & Air Force Exchange Service.

“A movie is a great opportunity for Fort Drum service members to get together with their Families and friends,” said Exchange Theater Manager Chad Mullins. “And with all they do for us, the Exchange is proud to help make free, military-exclusive advanced screenings happen for them.”

In the PG-13 rated film, in an effort to thwart Grindelwald's (Depp) plans of raising pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings, Albus Dumbledore (Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander (Redmayne), who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided world.

The Fort Drum Reel Time Theater is located in Bldg. 10725, South Riva Ridge Loop. For information, call (315) 773-0065.

“The Exchange is honored to work with the motion picture industry to provide advanced viewing of first-run movies for troops, on bases with their Families, or when they are deployed overseas,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “We couldn’t do it without them.”
