Mission:

The 1LT John A. McCown Mountain Training Group trains and develops disciplined alpine Soldiers to enhance individual and small-unit competency in extreme-cold weather (ECW) and mountainous or other complex, severely restricted terrain. 

 

Vision:

The 1LT John A. McCown Mountain Training Group is at the forefront of cold weather, mountaineering, light infantry training and innovation for the 10th Mountain Division (LI). Serving as the 10th Mountain Division's standards bearers, our cadre are consummate professionals who strive to uphold standards, regulations, and our alpine traditions and heritage. We are a holistically fit, tactically, and technically proficient organization that is committed to training Soldiers and units to build the necessary skills and confidence to train and fight in any terrain or environmental conditions.
