Organizers accept applications for Winter 2019 MASH Camp
WATERTOWN, N.Y. – The Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization (FDRHPO) is now accepting applications for its Winter 2019 Medical Academy of Sciences and Health (MASH) Camp.
MASH Camp is a unique opportunity for students in grades 8-12 to experience and explore the health care field in an interactive way. By participating in hands-on activities that highlight various career opportunities, students will learn about the educational requirements, skills, typical job duties and personal qualities of specific health care professionals.
Additionally, involvement in MASH Camp increases student awareness and understanding of the hospital setting and provides students an opportunity to network with health care professionals in their community to build long-term mentoring relationships.
Each two- or three-day session (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) will help answer questions and provide students with a path to explore their career options in depth. Regardless of hospital placement, each day will be different and provide interesting, thought-provoking exercises and real-life experiences.
Camp dates are as follows:
-
Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville: Feb. 18-20
-
River Hospital, Alexandria Bay: Feb. 18-19
-
Carthage Area Hospital: Feb. 19-21
