Lieutenant Colonel Troy H. Sanders enlisted in the U.S. Army in December 1941 immediately after America’s entry into World War II. Commissioned through the Officer Candidate School he was posted to the Chemical Corps, where he conducted research on chemical, nuclear and biological agents throughout his 21 years of active duty.

Lieutenant Colonel Sanders retired from the U.S. Army in 1962, but continued his work with the Chemical Corps as a civilian biologist. He furthered his work with biological agents and has been instrumental in the production of technical studies for use in combat development and training.

Through his research, publications, and personal mentorship Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Troy Sanders has had an immeasurable impact upon the U.S. Army Chemical Corps throughout his six-decade military and civilian career.
