Lieutenant Colonel (R) Mr. James Michael "Mike" Cress

 

Lieutenant Colonel (R) Mr. James Michael "Mike" Cress has provided nearly 50 years of service to the United States Army and Chemical Corps, and he has personally and repeatedly shaped the direction and modernization of the Corps. Over the span of those decades and to this day, Mike Cress remains a common household name synonymous with commitment to a vision of and products supporting a continually advancing the CBRN enterprise. Proving his dedicated commitment to excellence, Mike has pursued success for CBRN Warfighters by developing vast numbers of new and improved capabilities. A recent example of that commitment can be found within the newly developed CBRN Cueing and Interrogation Strategy, and the Robotic Mitigation Approach, which is now the focal point of the on-going future strategy of the Corps. Through all his decades of dedicated excellence, Mr. Cress has remained the most influential and thought-provoking leader across the enterprise on matters pertaining to CBRN capabilities for assessment, protection, and mitigation, and aligning those capabilities to the Army Functional Concepts for Protection, Maneuver, and Maneuver Support. His remarkable ability to provide futuristic visionary ideas and solutions has been the driving force towards the development of a more robust and dynamic Chemical Corps.
