10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum prepare
to welcome public for annual Mountainfest

FORT DRUM, N.Y. (June 16, 2023) – Mountainfest 2023 is days away, and the 10th Mountain Division (LI) and Fort Drum are preparing to host thousands of North Country community members on post.

Hosted by Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, the annual celebration will showcase the U.S. Army with military demonstrations and patriotic displays, musical performances by award-winning artists, and plenty of fun for the whole family.

All events will take place outdoors on Division Hill, with gates opening at noon Wednesday, June 21. Admission is free and open to the public. Food trucks will be available with food and beverages for sale.

The festivities will kick off with the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Car Show beginning at noon. Don’t miss this display of classic cars, domestic cars, import cars and 4x4s, custom and classic motorcycles and tricycles. Awards will be presented in each category.

Members of the public will have an opportunity to explore the military equipment displays and enjoy children’s carnival games and bounce houses.

Highlights of the celebration will include a performance by the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team at 4 p.m., followed by a live military demonstration and the Salute to the Nation, featuring a patriotic display of flags from 50 states and six territories.

The 10th Mountain Division Rock Band will perform at 5:30 p.m., followed by the AmeriCU Salute to the Troops Tribute Concert featuring headliner Gabby Barrett with special guests Maddie & Tae. A dazzling fireworks show will follow at 9:30.

Attendees without a Department of Defense-issued ID Card must enter Mountainfest via the Lewis Avenue Gate located on NYS Route 26 between U.S. Route 11 and NYS Route 3. At the gate, Fort Drum Directorate of Emergency Services personnel will conduct random vehicle searches and direct traffic to the event parking area.

To ensure everyone’s safety, all those attending Mountainfest will be required to enter through a security checkpoint where staff will screen for prohibited items. Prohibited items include alcohol, any illegal substances, marijuana or any CBD/THC products, coolers, backpacks, glass containers, knives, and weapons of any kind. Please be aware that no pets other than certified service animals are permitted.

Chairs, blankets, diaper bags and purses are permitted and are subject to search.
