Discounted BAH rates extended at all IHG Army Hotels

 

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 20, 2021) – Lendlease and IHG® Army Hotels today announced that it will extend the offering of the BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) rate at all 40 on-base IHG Army Hotels locations throughout the United States through the end of fiscal year 2022.

IHG Army Hotels first started offering this special discounted rate in March 2020.

"In support of the DoD's decision to freeze PCS (permanent change of station) last year, Lendlease supported the voluntarily offering of room rates significantly lower than per diem by IHG, to assist service members maneuvering through PCS moves,” said Gretchen Turpen, SVP, Head of Lodging, Lendlease. “To ensure we continue to meet the needs of all service members, we have extended this offering providing service members with an option for temporary lodging at BAH rates until they find permanent accommodation at their new duty station.

“This decision shows the PAL (Privatization of Army Lodging) program's ability to flex with the needs of the DoD, and most importantly allows us to continue in our mission of providing safe and quality accommodations for service members and families," Turpen added.

Even as progress is made in the fight against COVID-19, including availability and adoption of vaccinations, the pandemic’s impact on availability of housing remains a significant concern for families across the nation. The shortage of inventory combined with increased housing and rental costs in many of military communities has put more pressure on families.

The BAH rate is available upon request, under certain terms and conditions, and is not a default rate at check-in at IHG Army Hotels. A family (or anyone on PCS orders) having trouble securing housing should contact the housing office (or hotel front desk) for a form that provides hotel staff with the information they need to manually adjust the rate, so the going-forward rate equals their particular BAH.
