Cornell Cooperative Extension nutrition staff shows you how to ‘fuel up’ for February

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (Jan. 25, 2022) – Just like a car, our bodies need proper fuel for energy. Cornell Cooperative Extension has a variety of programs to help you fuel up for a healthy life.

Spice up Your Life with Turmeric: Have you ever wondered what turmeric is and why it seems to be so popular these days? Pick up a free turmeric spice packet at the Flower Memorial Library in Watertown, and then join Julia for recipes using turmeric and other kitchen tips over Zoom at 3 p.m. Feb. 22. Goals on the Go: It’s not too late to meet with a nutritionist and other families over Facebook each Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. this month to help achieve your health and wellness goals in the new year. Can’t make that time? No problem! These free classes will be available to view over Facebook throughout the week and still connect with your CCE nutritionist. Grocery Store Tour: Learn new ways to save money and eat healthy with Julia at 3 p.m. Feb. 23 at a grocery store in Watertown. Food prices have never been higher, and nearly every household is on a budget. Let Julia guide you through the aisles and show you how to eat right when times are tight! Campus Cooking: College students, would you like to learn healthy recipes and strategies you can use on and off campus? Join Jess in the Jules Center Teaching Kitchen on Thursdays at 4 p.m. starting Feb. 3 for dorm-friendly recipes, strategies to stretch your food budget, incorporating MyPlate in your dining hall meal plan and so much more!
