Registration deadline extended to Feb. 28
for allied health training courses at JCC
WATERTOWN, N.Y. (Jan. 26, 2022) – The deadline to register for Jefferson Community College (JCC) pre-certification allied health training has been extended to Feb. 28. Workshops will begin in March.
JCC’s allied health training provides individuals with the necessary foundational knowledge to become eligible to sit for the national certification exam in each respective allied health area. Candidates who hold nationally recognized allied health certification demonstrate a level of commitment to the field, and certification helps those currently employed in the field to build their health care career.
Certification is provided by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), the largest allied health certification agency in the United States, and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), which has more than 103,000 members and 52 affiliated component state associations.
MyCAA funding for military spouses is accepted. There are no prerequisites for JCC’s allied health training, and anyone may apply. Training – a combination of lecture and hands-on applied learning – is a three- to five-month commitment with classes meeting twice a week during evenings.
