Fort Bragg Career Skills Program (CSP)
What is CSP?
The Career Skills Program (CSP) helps Soldiers prepare for civilian careers through internships, apprenticeships, and training opportunities before separation or retirement.
How to Start
  1. Enroll in TAP and complete:
    • Initial Individual Counseling (IIC)
    • Pre‑Separation Brief
  2. Connect with TAP Virtual Center CSP Counselors to schedule Career Skills Brief by either emailing: usarmy.knox.hrc.mbx.tagd-tap-career-skills-program@army.mil or by calling 1-800-325-4715.
  3. Attend Career Skills Program Brief virtually.
  4. Identify and enroll in Career Skills Program, a DoW Skillbridge partnership, or an individual internship.
  5. Receive your CSP packet.
Basic Eligibility
  • Begin CSP within 180 days of ETS/Retirement.
  • IDES participants eligible immediately after CSP Brief.
  • Command approval required.
  • Must be Capstone complete before internship start.
Packet Requirements
  • Vetted CSP Programs: No Brigade/IMCOM legal review.
  • Outside 50 miles: Soldier placed on administrative leave.
Approval Categories
  • Category I (E1–E5): Up to 120 days → First Field Grade Commander with UCMJ authority.
  • Category II (E6–E7, WO1–CW3, O1–O3): Up to 90 days → First O6 Commander with UCMJ authority.
  • Category III (E8–E9, CW4–CW5, O4+): Up to 60 days → First General Officer in chain of command. No further delegation authorized.
