Mission
Housing Services Office (HSO) is a Directorate of Public Works Housing office, which is an element of Fort Bragg Garrison. HSO assists military personnel and their Families with all their off-post housing needs. The team provides the tools to help service members, their Families, and DoD civilians with information, to include homes off of the installation, in-and-outprocessing, assist with resolving landlord/tenant disputes, school information, utility waivers, and pamphlets.
In-processing
In-processing - Service members are required to report to HSO at their existing and new duty stations before making arrangements to rent, lease, or purchase off-post housing. Service members are further advised not to send monetary deposits for housing prior to contacting the HSO. Renters insurance - In most scenarios, on and off post renting, renters insurance is a requirement. Renters insurance is definitely a wise decision to consider, especially given the unpredictable nature of events like theft and severe weather. It's alarming to hear about the impact inclement weather has had on the greater Fort Bragg area including the losses soldiers have experienced. By securing renters insurance, you can protect your personal belongings from such unforeseen circumstances. Here are a few key benefits of renters insurance:
Protection of Personal Property: Covers your belongings in case of theft, fire, or natural disasters.
Liability Coverage: Provides protection if someone gets injured while on your property or if you accidentally damage someone else's property.
Additional Living Expenses: Covers costs associated with temporary housing if your rental unit becomes uninhabitable due to a covered event.
Affordable Premiums: Generally, renters insurance is quite affordable and offers peace of mind. It’s worth looking into different insurance providers to compare policies and find one that best fits your needs.
Temporary Lodging Options: Temporary lodging options – both on and off base – are managed by private companies. There are no government or Army-run temporary lodging inventory or facilities.
Temporary Lodging Options (TLE): is an allowance intended to partially pay members for lodging/meal expenses incurred by a member/dependent(s) while occupying temporary lodging in association with a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move. A PCS to Fort Bragg TLE Reimbursement is limited to 21 days. See link for TLE Guidance.
School Support: Please contact the Fort Bragg School Support Services for school information.
