Dennis H. Scott
AMPO DIRECTOR RETIRED

A native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Command Sergeant Major Scott became the 126th Finance Battalion's Command Sergeant Major on 28 September 2001.  Entering the Army in May 1978 as a 95B (Military Policeman), Command Sergeant Scott completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort McClellan, Alabama.  In 1982, he reclassified as a 73C (Finance Specialist) and attended training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.  Command Sergeant Major Scott has served in every leadership position from Squad Leader to Command Sergeant Major.  His previous assignments include four tours at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, 12th Finance at Fort Knox, Kentucky, U.S. Army Recruiting Command at Sharon, Pennsylvania, Frankfurt, Germany, Yongsan, Korea, and Fort Jackson, South Carolina where he served as the First Sergeant for E. Company, 369th Adjutant General Battalion.

            Command Sergeant Major Scott holds earned an Associate Degree in Business Management from Lafayette Community College.  His Military Education includes:  Military Police School, Recruiter School, Primary Leader Development Course, Basic and Advance Non-Commissioned Officer's Course, and the Sergeants Major Academy.

            Command Sergeant Major Scott's awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star medal Meritorious Service Medal (4th Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (7th Oak Leaf Cluster), and the U.S. Army Recruiter's Badge with two Sapphires.  He is a recipient of the Brigadier General Robert C Goetz Medallion, Distinguished Member of the Regiment (DMR) Medallion and the General Towson Medallion for being recognized as the leadership award winner while attending Advance Noncommissioned Officer Course.

Mission 

Providing world class finance and accounting service for the military and defense agencies, the Army Military Pay Office at Fort Bragg provides military pay operations to Army Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard Service Members. Our goal is to pay Soldiers what they are entitled to timely and with accuracy. We are a fully integrated financial service provider here to support and serve the brave men and women who serve our country and protect our way of life.

Vision

USAFMCOM serves as the Army's Financial Operations Center, executing financial operations and providing technical coordination and support on finance and comptroller activities across the Army. We support USAFMCOM mission and vision via four priorities - People, Readiness, Modernization, Reform through these lines of effort: Support current, deployed Finance and Comptroller operations; Ensure continuity of Army finance, comptroller, and accounting operations, Improve tactical Finance and Comptroller unit training, systems, guidance, and assistance; Improve systems, controls, and processes to achieve auditability; and Support military pay operations.

The Fort Bragg AMPO is comprised of six departments:

In/Out Processing; Separations, Military Pay Processing; Customer Service; Reserve Pay and Military Pay Review. These sections provide comprehensive Military Pay support to all Soldiers assigned to the installation to include PCS Travel Support and Wounded Warrior Pay Management.

IN/OUT PROCESSING

IN/OUT PROCESSING Section conducts Permanent Change of Station actions for all Fort Bragg Soldiers arriving and departing.

SEPARATIONS

Provides assistance to Soldiers Retiring or Separating from military service. Briefings are conducted in office daily Soldier Support Center, Bldg. 4-2843 Normandy Dr. J-Wing.

Retirement

MILITARY PAY PROCESSING

Provides assistance to unit S-1 and PAC personnel. The HUB of the AMPO this section processes the majority of all military pay changes submitted by Soldiers.


CUSTOMER SERVICE

Provides assistance for Soldiers and Family Members with pay issues that cannot be resolved at the unit level. Soldiers should seek assistance through their unit S-1 or Personnel Action Center (PAC).

RESERVE PAY

Conducts finance reviews for AC Soldier Readiness prior to deployment (SRP) and on return to home station (Reverse SRP).Provides services to RC/ARNG units mobilizing and demobilizing through the Deployment Readiness Center.

MILITARY PAY REVIEW

Provides assistance with Special Pay and allowance to include Foreign Language Pay and Flight Pay. This section conducts entitlement review audits to ensure Soldiers are paid the correct pay and allowances.

WOUNDED WARRIOR PAY

Provides support and counseling on entitlements and travel payments for Soldiers and Family Members injured during deployment.
