CSM Loehr was born in 1975 and is a native of Chicago Illinois, where he enlisted in the United States Army in 1999 as an Infantryman. He attended One Station Unit Training for individual Infantryman and the Bradley Transition Course at Fort Benning Georgia. CSM Loehr has served in every leadership position from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major. His past duty titles include Machine Gunner, Grenadier, Rifle Team Leader, Rifle Squad Leader, Reconnaissance Team Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Instructor/Writer, First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, and Command Sergeant Major. His stateside assignments include Fort Hood Texas, Fort Bragg North Carolina, Fort Benning Georgia, Fort Bliss Texas, and Fort Drum New York. He has deployed once to Guantanamo Bay Cuba in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and four times to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. CSM Loehr’s military education includes the Combat Lifesaver Course, Unit Armorer Course, Field Sanitation Team Training Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Ranger Course, Unit Prevention Leader Certification Course, Non-Lethal Munitions Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Airborne Course, Airborne Leaders Course, 82ND ABN DIV Master Gunner Course, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader Course, Jumpmaster Course, FBCB2 Operators Course, Maneuver Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Pathfinder Course, Tactics Certification Course, Army Basic Instructor Course, Joint Firepower Course, Ranger Instructor Certification, Quick Kill Course, Structured Self Development Level Five, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course, Master Resilience Training Course, Sergeants Major Course (Class 65), Battalion and Brigade Pre-Command Courses, and the Commandants Pre-Command Course. He has an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia College, and is a State of Illinois licensed Plumber. CSM Loehr’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC and V), Army Achievement Medal (5 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (4 CS), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He has received the Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Award, and Meritorious Unit Citation (1 OLC). He has also earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and Parachutist Badges from Germany, Jordan, and Egypt. CSM Loehr is a recipient of The Order of Saint Maurice (Centurion).
