Commute Trip Reduction

Share your commute and join a vanpool!

What is a vanpool?

A vanpool is a group of 3 to 7 people sharing a ride to work in a transit agency provided vehicle. Vanpooling saves you money on gas and wear-and-tear on your personal vehicle. It also gives you time to do things other than sitting alone in traffic. You can get help joining a vanpool or creating one that fits your schedule by contacting any of the local transit agencies.

How can I save money?

All Department of Defense personnel (military, civilian, and NAF) qualify for a monthly subsidy up to $325 a month that can be used towards the monthly fare for using a form of Public Transit or vanpooling, through the Mass Transportation Benefit Program.
