Army PCS Move App

The Army PCS Move app is a mobile knowledge-based app designed toenhance the relocation experience for Soldiers, families, and Department of theArmy civilians. Those preparing for a permanent change-of-station move now have access to an organized central hub of information onentitlements, types of moves, how to plan/schedule a move, claims, andimportant moving information related to COVID-19. The app also helps educateusers regarding allowances and responsibilities in the event a claim for lossand/or damage needs to be filed.

ID Cards / Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System

Joint Personal Property Shipping Office

The JPPSO Northwest provides traffic management services related to personal property/household goods shipments initiated by service members or DOD civilians through an online system called the Defense Personal Property System.

Relocation Readiness & Lending Closet

Relocation Readiness is a comprehensive program designed to assist service members and families with transfers and relocations throughout the tour cycle. Services include workshops, counseling and support, pre-move planning, moving, settling into a new community, and more.

Weapons Registration

Weapons registration is mandatory for all persons residing on base, regardless of branch affiliation. All privately-owned weapons being brought onto JBLM property are also required to be registered.

Washington State recently enacted laws prohibiting certain actions regarding assault weapons and firearms parts, including importation, selling and offering for sale.

• Before you ship, transport or hand carry privately-owned firearms or firearm parts into Washington State, review and/or seek legal advice on whether your weapon is prohibited under Washington State law. Washington State has a list of firearms and firearm parts that are specifically considered assault weapons and may be prohibited from being transported into Washington State, depending on your particular circumstances. A detailed information list can be found here.

• You can obtain legal advice from your outgoing Legal Assistance Office or civilian attorney at your own expense, before your PCS begins.

Exchange

At war and in peacetime, the Exchange provides service members with the services and merchandise they need to make their lives more comfortable. JBLM has two Exchange locations - one on ⚠ Lewis Main and one on ⚠ McChord Field.

Commisary

The Defense Commissary Agency operates a worldwide chain of commissaries providing groceries to military personnel, retirees and their families. JBLM has two Commissary locations, one on ⚠ Lewis Main and one on ⚠ McChord Field.

Warrior Restaurants

There are six Warrior Restaurants conveniently located throughout the installation. Appropriated Dining Facilities are open to all service components and their family members, retirees, and government employees.

Texas Roadhouse

Texas Roadhouse is located on Lewis Main.

Civilian Personnel Advisory Center

The team of human resources professionals at the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center is dedicated to supporting and empowering service members, civilian employees, families, and veterans. More than 330,000 men and women working in every profession imaginable are not active-duty military, but they serve as an integral part of the armed forces team to support the defense of our nation.

Employment Readiness Program

The Employment Readiness Program offers resources to help with your career plan and job search. All DoD ID cardholders, to include: military spouses, retirees, veterans, active-duty service members, DoD civilians, active reserve, National Guard, and wounded warriors are welcome.

The Installation Volunteer Corps provides resources and training to organizations and volunteers to assess, develop and strengthen their volunteer service and/or programs.

Soldier & Family Readiness Group / Key Spouse

Soldier & Family Readiness Groups are command-sponsored programs to help bridge the gap between families and Army units. They promote the commander’s vision throughout the unit’s mission by assisting families in becoming knowledgeable, self-reliant, and prepared to solve problems at the lowest level. The Key Spouse Program is an official Air Force Unit Family Readiness Program designed to enhance readiness, personal/family resiliency, and establish a sense of Air Force community.

Spouses' Club of Lewis-McChord

The ⚠ Spouses' Club of Lewis-McChord is an all ranks club open to members of the JBLM community. Outreach programs support the military community through welfare and scholarships.

JBLM Shuttle Service
