Waller Hall In-Processing/Travel Customer Service Hours: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays
Soldiers in processing JBLM will be provided a brief on day one of their in-processing. The brief is conducted in Waller Hall at 1 p.m. Monday and Wednesday-Friday, except for DONSAs and federal holidays. The briefing will include information on entitlements that will stop upon arrival and entitlements the Soldiers are authorized while stationed at JBLM. In addition Soldiers are provide assistance with their TLE (Temporary Lodging Expenses) and travel vouchers for submission to DFAS Rome.
Soldiers may attend the brief in full or sign up to use SmartVoucher. Prior to the brief starting Soldiers are given the option to use SmartVoucher. Soldiers opting to use SmartVoucher sign in and are provided a handout to assist in the digital process to complete their in-processing.
Waller Hall Separations/Retirements
Waller Hall Separations/Retirements Service Hours: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday - Wednesday and Friday. Thursday hours are 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Finance Separation/Retirement in person briefings are mandatory for all personnel physically located on JBLM. Our briefings are held Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. in Room 322, Waller Hall (right off the Finance Customer Service lobby).
For personnel not physically located on JBLM: Attached is your completed Interview checklist. Please see annotations at the bottom of the page under NOTES. If you do not see any comments at the bottom of your checklist, then we do not need any additional documents from you and no further action is needed. Please note: if you have any pay affecting life changes before your ETS this could change.

DFAS pays all DoD military and civilian personnel, retirees and annuitants, as well as major DoD contractors and vendors. DFAS also supports customers outside the DoD in support of electronic government initiatives. Customers include the Executive Office of the President, the Department of Energy, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Agency for Global Media.
Financial Readiness Resources (Personal Finances)
Increase your personal financial literacy and/or receive financial assistance in times of need.
The Financial Readiness Program provides education, counseling, and support services to assist active and retired service members, their family members, and DA civilians with their personal finances. Services offered include: One-on-one and couples counseling with an accredited financial counselor, workshops on personal finance, and customized personal finance workshops for military units
Army Emergency Relief (AER) is a private, non-profit organization established to assist Soldiers and their Family members in emergency financial situations due to no fault of their own.
Financial assistance is given in the form of an interest-free loan, grant, or combination of the two. Loans are repaid by an allotment. AER is by appointment for intake or returns.
The Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) is the official charity of the United States Air Force
The Society supports the Air Force Mission by providing worldwide emergency financial assistance (via interest-free loans and grants) to Airmen and their eligible Family members, educational assistance programs, and offering an array of base community enhancement programs that have a positive impact on the welfare of Airmen and their Families.
