Sustainable acquisition, also known as green procurement, refers to a collection of specific legal requirements applicable to federal agencies. Agencies are directed to give procurement preference to certain environmentally preferable products and services that have a positive or less negative impact on human health and the environment when compared with competing products or services that serve the same purpose.
