CSM Travis Thompson

CSM Thompson enlisted as an Infantryman in the United States Army under the Delayed Entry program 31 January 1995 attending basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.

His last assignment was as the Command Sergeant Major 2-4 IN 3/10 MTN DIV, Ft Polk, LA Previous assignments include - 1-509th PIR, Ft Polk, LA; 2-505 PIR, Ft Bragg, NC; 2-54 IN Ft Benning, GA; 2-69 AR Ft Benning, GA; 1-507 PIR Ft Benning, GA; 1-16 IN Ft Riley, KS; 5-87 IN Ft Kobbe, Panama; 2-7 CAV Ft Hood, TX. He has also served three tours in Iraq (OIF III, OIF V, and OIR) and one tour in Afghanistan.

He has served in every leadership position in the Infantry from Team Leader through Command Sergeant Major.

His military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Jump Master School, Drill Sergeant School, Pathfinder School, Jungle operations Training Course, Instructor Training Course, Master Resiliency Training Course, First Sergeant’s Course and USASMA class 65.

His awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal w V device, Bronze Star Medal (2OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Army Commendation Medal (6OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5OLC), Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal , Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal , Iraq Campaign Medal , Global war on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (with Numeral 6), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon , NATO Medal, Operation Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Valorous Unit Award, and the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Drivers Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge and Foreign Airborne awards from Germany and Canada. He is also an Order of Saint Maurice recipient and Sergeant Audie Murphy Club inductee.

He is married and has three children.
