CSM Michael G. Eilers
CSM Eilers is a native of Lancaster, California, and enlisted in November 2002 as an Infantryman. He attended OSUT at Fort Benning, Georgia, and has held every leadership position from Team Leader through Brigade Command Sergeant Major.
His stateside assignments include 1-32 IN at Fort Drum, New York; 2-60th IN at Fort Jackson, South Carolina; 3-61 CAV, 1-8 IN, 1-41 IN, and 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Fort Carson, Colorado; 1-502 IN at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and the Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas. His overseas assignments include South Asia desk NCOIC for USARPAC Security Cooperation and Policy division and the USARPAC Executive Staff at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. He has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan for combat tours totaling 37 months.
CSM Eilers’ military education includes the Warrior Leader Course, the Basic NCO Course, the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School, the Airborne Course, the Maneuver Senior Leader Course, the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course, the Ranger Course, the Security Cooperation Management Action Officer Course, the International Programs Security Requirements Course, the Asia-Pacific Orientation Course, the Security Cooperation Planners Course, the Joint Foreign Area Officer Course, the Air Assault Course, the First Sergeant Course, the Sergeants Major Academy, and the University of Louisville Strategic Broadening Seminar. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Arts in International Security Studies from Hawaii Pacific University, and a Master's in Public Policy focusing on International Water Security from Oregon State University.
CSM Eilers’ awards and decorations include the Legion of Merrit, the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (5th award), the Army Commendation Medal (7th award), the Army Achievement Award (2nd award), the Valorous Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Award (2nd award), the Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), and both the Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medals. CSM Eilers holds the Combat and Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Driver and Mechanic Badge (Wheeled), the Drill Sergeants Identification Badge, the Parachutist Badge, the Order of the Combat Spur from the 61st Cavalry Regiment, the Air Assault badge, the Ranger tab, the Order of Saint George, the Order of Saint Maurice, and the Order of Saint Barbara.
CSM Eilers, is married and has three children and they look forward to their time serving with the Soldiers and families of the 25th Infantry Division.
