CW3 Alexander Davis

A native of Augusta, Georgia, Chief Warrant Officer Alexander Davis currently serves as the Commander of the 25th Infantry Division “Tropic Lightning” Band. Prior to this assignment, he served as Bandmaster and Officer-In-Charge of the Jazz Ambassadors of The United States Army Field Band at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

CW3 Davis has previously served as Commander of the Ninth Army Band stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska and the United States Army Maneuver Center of Excellence Band in Fort Moore, Georgia. CW3 Davis began his Army career in 2004 as a unit supply specialist in the Army Reserves. In 2006, he entered active-duty service as a trombonist in the 82nd Airborne Division Band in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and deployed with the band from 2007 to 2008 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Other assignments include the 434th Signal Corps Band of Fort Gordon, Georgia, and the 25th Infantry Division Band of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he was accepted into the Army Warrant Officer/Bandmaster Program.

Davis’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2nd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd Award), NATO ISAF Service Medal, the Meritorious Unit Award, Basic Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge. Chief Warrant Officer Davis holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Military Technology Leadership and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Thomas Edison University. He studied music at Florida A&M University where he was a member of the renowned “Marching 100” Marching Band. CW3 Davis is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., and the Adjutant General Corps Regimental Association.
