1SG Matthew M. Edwards

First Sergeant Matthew M. Edwards is an Indiana native and entered the U.S. Army in March 2005. He attended Infantry one station unit training at Fort Benning Georgia.

His previous assignments include 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, Fort Riley, Kansas (2005-2006); 1st Battalion 28th Infantry Regiment, Fort Riley, Kansas (2006-2008); 1st Battalion 2nd Infantry Regiment, Grafenwoer, Germany (2008-2011); 1st Battalion 64th Armor Regiment, Fort Stewart, Georgia (2011-2017); Army Test and Evaluation Command, Aberdeen, Maryland (2017-2021) and the NCO Academy Hawaii (2021-2023).

1SG Edwards’ military and civilian education include Bradley Master Gunner Course, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course (CFD-IC) and a Bachelor of Science in Investigative Forensics from University of Maryland Global.

1SG Edwards’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device, Army Commendation Medal (8 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (6th OLC), Air Force Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Valorous Unit Commendation, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Master Gunner Identification Badge.
