CSM Jason R. Taylor

Command Sergeant Major Jason R. Taylor enlisted in the Texas National Guard under the split option training program and attended Basic Training at Fort Benning, GA from June to August 2001. He completed his training as an Indirect Fire Infantryman during the summer of 2002. He later transitioned to active duty on January 13, 2003 as an 11B Infantryman. CSM Taylor has served in numerous leadership positions from Fire Team Leader to Battalion Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Taylor’s previous assignments include 1-9 CAV Fort Hood TX, 2-87 IN Fort Drum NY, 2-10 AVN Fort Drum NY, 4th Ranger Training Battalion Fort Benning GA, 3rd Infantry Regiment “The Old Guard” Fort Myers VA, 2-503rd  Vicenza Italy, 1-16th IN Fort Riley KS, HQ Airborne Ranger Training Brigade, and 1-18th IN Fort Riley KS. He has deployed to Iraq in support of OIF 2 times and Afghanistan 2 times in support of OEF.

CSM Taylor’s military education includes Sling Load Inspectors Course, Anti-armor Leaders Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Basic Instructor Course, Tactics Certification Course, Joint Fire Power Controller Course, Warrior Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Maneuver Senior Leader Course, Common Faculty Developers Course, U.S Army Sergeant Major’s Academy class 70, and the US Army Ranger School.

CSM Taylor’s military awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defensive Service Medal,  Afghanistan Campaign Medal (3 Campaign Stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 6), NATO Medal, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Parachutist Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, and French/Serbian foreign Jump wings. CSM Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Workforce Development from the Command and General Staff College, and is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
