CSM Raymond W. Miller
Command Sergeant Major Raymond (Ray) Miller is the Commandant for the Sergeant William R. Jecelin NCO Academy Hawaii and was formerly the Batalion Command Sergeant Major for the 1-345th Brigade Engineer Batalion in Camp Aterbury, Indiana, and the 4th Engineer Batalion in Fort Carson, Colorado.
A native of Kearny, Arizona, Command Sergeant Major Miller enlisted in the Army in 2000 and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri as a 12B (Combat Engineer). In addition to his multiple tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve, Miller was also stationed at Camp Howze (South Korea), Baumholder (Germany) and various Special Operations deployments. During his career, Command Sergeant Major Miller served with the 10th Mountain Division (Light), 2nd Infantry Division, 1st Engineer Brigade, 1st Armor Division, TRADOC, Special Mission Unit, the Joint Special Operations Command, 36th Engineer Brigade, and First Army Division East. Command Sergeant Major Miller’s training and educational levels include all Noncommissioned Officer professional development courses culminating with the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 68. He maintains a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership, and a Master of Science in Leadership from Trident University International. Raymond is also a certified Project Management Professional.
Miller’s awards include a Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), Meritorious Service Medal (4th award), Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Valor, Army Commendation Medal (6th Award), Iraqi Campaign Medal (4 bronze stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (2nd award), Armed Forces Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (5th award), Sapper Tab, Combat Action Badge, Airborne Badge, and Air Assault Badge. He is also the recipient of the Bronze De Fleury Medal from the Engineer Regiment.
