Chief Warrant Officer 5 Daniel Layman
Prior to his current assignment to the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, CW5 Layman was the Aviation Standardization Officer for the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, Fort Hood, TX. CW5 Layman is a Master Army Aviator with over 4500 hours in the TH67, AH64D, AH64E, and UH72.
CW5 Layman’s previous operational and generating assignments include service as an Attack Aviation Observer Coach Trainer at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center; the Aviation Standardization Officer for Eighth Army; the Standardization Officer and Senior Warrant Officer Advisor for 4-2 Attack Battalion; the Aviation Master Gunner for 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade; the Standardization Officer for A 1-14th Aviation Regiment; and multiple standardization billets within 1-227 Attack Battalion.
He has multiple combat and operational deployments to the CENTCOM and EUCOM AORs.
CW5 Layman’s military education includes the Warrant Officer Senior Service Education Course, the AH64 Instructor Pilot Course, the Rotary Wing Instrument Examiner Course, and the Aviation Master Gunner Course. He additionally holds a B.A in Economics from Virginia Tech and an M.B.A. from Liberty University.
CW5 Layman is married and has two sons.
