Army Spouses Spiritual Readiness Seminar
will feature national speakers at Fort Drum
FORT DRUM (May 4, 2022) – Nationally recognized speakers will be featured during a three-day FREE Army Spouses Spiritual Readiness Seminar sponsored by the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps this month at Fort Drum.
The seminar will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 11-13 in the Main Post Chapel. It will be open to any Army spouse, and it is completely free. Child care and lunch will be provided.
This event is designed to further equip spouses and their families to remain connected to God and one another through Army life challenges.
The theme on Wednesday, May 11, will be “Identity and Self Care.”
The welcome and opening remarks will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m., followed by Dr. Lisa Miller, who will speak on “Spirituality and Identity,” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. After lunch, Dr. Russell Jones will speak on “Spirituality and Self Care,” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
On Thursday, May 12, the theme will be “Relationships and Self Care.”
Jill Solhjem, spouse of the Army chief of chaplains, will give the welcome and share opening remarks from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Dr. Angela Gorrell will speak on “Spirituality and Purpose” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. After lunch, Rabbi Elan Babchuck will speak from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on “Spirituality and Community Care.”
The theme on Friday, May 13, will be “Purpose and Community Care.”
Following the welcome and opening remarks from 9 to 9:30 a.m., Dr. Tonya Armstrong will speak on “Spirituality and Relationships” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. After lunch, she will speak on “Family Wellness” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Spouses are welcome to attend any or all parts of the seminar as their schedules allow.
