What is Unaccompanied Housing?
Unaccompanied Housing (UH) is a branch in the Directorate of Public Works Housing Division, which is an element of Fort Bragg Garrison. UH is dedicated to providing suitable and safe living quarters for single Soldiers. We ensure newly-constructed buildings and renovations meet Army requirements and are outfitted with furnishings, fixtures, and equipment to meet Soldiers' needs.
Army Barracks Management Program on Fort Bragg:
Army Barracks Management Program: Fort Bragg's Unaccompanied Permanent Party Housing is managed by the NCO leadership in each unit. All barracks-eligible Soldiers must reside on-post in a barracks space assigned by the unit unless authorized in advance to reside off the installation. Barracks eligible Soldiers include all single Soldiers E5 and below. Soldiers E5 and below married to another service member not assigned to Fort Bragg are treated as single Soldiers and must reside in the barracks. All married Soldiers accompanied by their spouse and single Soldiers staff sergeant and above are not authorized to reside in the barracks for any length of time without an approved Exception to Policy.
Fort Bragg barracks rooms are fully furnished and are pet and smoking free. Cable television and high-speed internet services can be procured by residents under subscription with Spectrum. Most barracks also offer WiFi only subscription services through Boingo.
Unaccompanied Personnel Housing BEQ/BOQ (E6 and above): The Fort Bragg Housing Office operates a BOQ/SBEQ for residents assigned to Fort Bragg on TCS orders. All Soldiers assigned to Fort Bragg on TCS must reside in the BOQ/BEQ. Soldiers arriving TCS and procuring off-post rental lodging will not be reimbursed. All Soldiers (E6 and above) assigned to Fort Bragg TDY that are directed to utilize government quarters if available must also reside in the BOQ/BEQ. Al Soldiers, E5 and below, regardless of marital status, assigned to Fort Bragg TCS/TDY authorized or required to use government quarters will reside in permanent party or transient troop barracks for the duration of their stay.
Certificate of Non-Availability
Army Regulation 420-1 Army Facilities Management provides information about exceptions to policy. After an exception is approved, the certificate of non-availability is issued to the service member.
This is only for single Soldiers living in the barracks who are E-5 and below.
